❄️ Policies & Guidelines
Welcome to Lauren Varga (LV) Skating! These policies are designed to create a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all skaters and families. Please review them carefully before your first lesson.
🧭 Scheduling & Communication
- Lessons are scheduled directly with Coach Lauren Varga via website, phone, text, or email.
- Regular lesson slots are confirmed weekly; ad hoc sessions may be booked as availability allows.
- All scheduling requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.
- Communication is key — if your schedule changes, please reach out promptly to adjust your lesson time.
⏰ Cancellations & Rescheduling
- A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all lessons.
- Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full coaching fee, unless due to illness or weather-related rink closures.
- If you need to reschedule, please contact Lauren directly to find a new time.
- In the rare event a coach must cancel, a make-up session or credit will be provided.
💳 Payment
- Lesson fees are for coaching time only; ice time and rink admission/freestyle fees are paid separately to the facility unless otherwise noted.
- Payment is due at the time of lesson via cash, Venmo, or check (made payable to Lauren Varga).
- Returned checks or failed payments may incur a $25 administrative fee.
🧊 Ice Time & Rink Access
- Skaters must arrive early enough to pay for ice time, lace up, and be ready to start on schedule.
- All skaters and families must comply with the rules and conduct policies of the host rink or facility.
- Ice time and freestyle sessions are subject to rink management and may vary by season.
🏒⛸️ Equipment & Attire
- Skaters should wear properly fitted skates and ensure blades are sharpened regularly.
- Helmets are required for Learn-to-Skate and hockey beginners, and recommended for all youth skaters.
- Gloves, fitted layers, and safety gear (knee pads, wrist guards, etc.) are encouraged for newer skaters.
- No loose clothing or dangling accessories that could interfere with skating.
🧍♀️Parents & Spectators
- Parents are welcome to observe lessons quietly from designated viewing areas.
- To help skaters stay focused, please avoid standing at the boards during instruction unless requested.
- Positive encouragement is appreciated — coaching cues should come from the instructor only.
🧠 Progress & Development
- Every skater learns at a different pace. Lessons are tailored to age, skill level, and goals.
- Lauren emphasizes technical mastery, body alignment, and mental confidence — skills that build consistency and enjoyment on the ice.
- Goal-setting and periodic progress check-ins are offered for regular students.
☁️ Weather & Rink Closures
- If the rink closes due to inclement weather, all affected lessons will be rescheduled.
- Please check the rink’s social media or text updates for closure announcements.
🧾 Liability & Safety
- All participants (or guardians, if under 18) must complete a waiver of liability before the first lesson.
- LV Skating and its affiliates are not responsible for injuries, lost items, or accidents occurring on or off the ice.
- Safety and respect for others are non-negotiable — skaters displaying unsafe or disruptive behavior may be asked to leave the ice.
💛 Our Philosophy
LV Skating is founded on the belief that technical excellence and joy can coexist.
We focus on helping each skater — from first-time beginner to competitive athlete — find balance, confidence, and flow both on and off the ice.
“The goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress, power, and joy in motion.”
