Lauren Varga is a lifelong skater and U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist. A certified coach with U.S. Figure Skating and accredited by the Professional Skater‘s Association since 2004, she works with skaters of all ages — from Learn-to-Skate beginners to competitive athletes — focusing on edge quality, power, and control.
Blending the precision of figure skating with the strength of hockey stride work, Lauren helps skaters build confidence, agility, and flow on the ice.
Based in Saratoga, NY, she’s also a mom of three hockey-loving kids — and knows firsthand how skating can shape confidence, focus, and joy. 💛

Private Figure Skating Lesson
Focus on singles skating skills development, choreography/presentation, power skating and/or test prep.
Initial assessment / Intro Lesson (30 minutes) - $40
1/2 hour lesson - $45
1 hour lesson - $90
Private Hockey Power Skating Lesson
Focus on edges, crossovers, transitions, speed, and game transfer from a figure-based technique lens.
Initial assessment (30 minutes) - $40
1/2 hour lesson - $45
1 hour lesson - $90
Private Learn-to-Skate Lesson
Ideal for younger or newer skaters (follows Learn-to-Skate USA curriculum).
20 minute lesson - $30
30 minute lesson - $40
Note: For new skaters, private lessons are most effective as a supplement to Learn-to-Skate group classes (offered via Saratoga Springs Rec, AYHA, Hockey Hut, etc.), which offer value as well as peer group motivation. They can; however, be a sole method of learning to skate.

Lesson Locations & Ice Fees
Lesson location schedule is generally as follows, but may change depending on individual rink schedules/availability. Don’t see your rink listed or having trouble finding a day/time that works for you on the calendar? Email Lauren@lvskating.com to inquire about additional options.
- Wednesday AM - Saratoga (Figure / Hockey Power Skating with edge work focus)
- Friday - Gavin Park (seasonal; all lesson types)
- Sunday PM - Saratoga (Hockey Power Skating)
*NOTE: Private lesson fees do not include the cost of ice time or skate rental, which must be purchased separately through the rink. Lessons may also be arranged at Glens Falls Rec or Gavin Park Ice Rink (outdoor; seasonal), if you have your own skates. Contact for more info.
